Home-Start Norfolk is an independent charity providing vital support to families with children aged 0 to 5. Early support is delivered by trained volunteers who provide compassionate, emotional, and practical help to families, overcoming barriers and improving lifelong outcomes for young children.

There is overwhelming evidence that the first 5 years of a child’s life are crucial in determining their emotional, physical, and educational development. Without stable foundations, children will have poorer education, lower-paid jobs, a greater likelihood of mental health problems, and lower life expectancy. Parents struggling with mental or physical health problems, isolation or financial difficulties need support to overcome challenging barriers and give their children the best start in life
Solution
Home-Start Norfolk works with hundreds of families each year, providing early intervention support to overcome challenges within the home that impact a child’s development, health, and wellbeing. Our trained volunteers work alongside parents, offering weekly emotional and practical support to overcome challenging barriers, make positive life choices, and offer a shoulder to lean on through tough times. Emerging problems can be alleviated early before families' needs reach a crisis point.
