Beaumond House Hospice Care is raising funds to purchase an Oska 'Embrace' Bed. The bed, also referred to as a 'Cuddle' bed will enable our patients to lay alongside their families, loved ones and pets providing them with the closeness and comfort needed at the end-of-life.

Sharing a bed with a terminally ill loved one is a very personal decision with strong benefits for wellbeing for both the patient and the loved one. This campaign is responding to what beneficiaries have told us. Patients explain that when they share their physical space, whether with a partner, a child or a family pet, the closeness provides them with a sense of security, particularly during difficult moments of pain and anxiety.

Beaumond House will purchase an OSKA 'Embrace' bed; 'the companion bed for end-of-life care'. Big enough for two, loved ones & partners can lie next to patients & be close during final days & hours together. This bed will transform how patients are cared for in our In-patient unit. When a terminally ill person expresses a desire to remain close to a loved one, a shared bed realises this wish. It’s important not to deny someone to be physically close to loved ones during their final days.
