Classics has long been for the privileged. We support and train teachers to bring Classics to deprived state schools, ensuring all children access a high-quality classical education, bridging educational inequality.

All children deserve a quality education. Classics enhances literacy, connects past and present, and expands horizons. Yet, Classics is often seen as elitist, accessible mainly to the wealthy. In deprived areas, access to classical education is rare. We aim to democratise Classics, ensuring all students, regardless of background, can benefit from its rich educational value and opportunities.

Classics for All was founded 14 years ago to tackle the Classics divide, since then we’ve supported over 1,200 schools and over 200,000 young people. We overcome barriers like teacher shortages, budget constraints, and elitist perceptions. Our proven approach trains and supports teachers to integrate Classics into the curriculum, raising aspirations and cultural capital for students from all backgrounds, particularly in deprived areas.
