Street-connected girls in Kolkata have poor access to protection, education, shelter and life skills, and risk abuse and exploitation.This project will enable the girls to access education, vocational training, welfare entitlements & create safe environments to help them reach their full potential.

Kolkata has a street-dwelling population of up to 800,000, including thousands of children who are exposed to abuse, exploitation & trafficking. Street-connected girls are often rendered invisible and voiceless with poor access to education and training, and limited opportunities to become independent adults. This project will empower marginalised girls through education and skills training, and enable their families & communities to create safe environments to support holistic development.

Kolkata has an estimated population of 250,000 street-connected children, who are exposed to abuse, exploitation and trafficking. Street-connected girls are rendered invisible with poor access to education, training and entitlements, and have limited options to become independent adults. This project will empower these girls through provision of education and skills training. It will also help strengthen their families and communities ability to create safer environments for their children.
