We are the Rape Crisis Centre for Sussex. No one should be alone when they have experienced sexual violence. We listen to, support and believe survivors of all ages. We understand that a healing journey starts with small steps and are here for those who have been affected recently or in the past.

The trauma experienced by survivors can lead to depression, guilt, self-harm and suicidal thoughts. Yet many survivors fall through the cracks when accessing help; their needs may not reach thresholds for acute services, but they are unable to afford alternatives. This has been compounded by the cost-of-living crisis meaning that referrals to our services in 2022/23 increased by 71%.

Everyone’s healing journey is different. We work with survivors to identify paths to recovery that best meet their individual needs. Our services include therapy, groupwork, an email and telephone helpline, advocacy and support, a specialist children and young people’s team and homeopathy. We also offer training to individuals and organisations in areas such as bystander intervention, responding to first disclosures and sexual harassment in the workplace.
