Central is responsible for a significant pipeline of talent coming into the performing arts industries. It is vital this training is accessible to everyone. However, the increasing cost of living is deterring talented students from applying or continuing their studies at Central. This means theatre and arts education is in danger of being restricted to those with means and not those with the drive and talent to create.
Central aims to become an institution that anyone, regardless of background, can attend. This year we removed audition fees for undergraduate students and expanded our outreach activities to reach those across the UK. We offer scholarships and bursaries to help those with limited financial means. Scholarships of £2,000 - £10,000 are awarded on a combined basis of merit and financial need. Bursaries of £1,000- £2,000 are awarded on the basis of financial need.
