ME affects at least 250,000 adults and children in the UK, though this number is likely to be significantly higher. Around half of the 2 million people with Long Covid meet the diagnostic criteria for ME. Alongside living with debilitating symptoms leaving 1 in 4 house-bound, people with ME face misunderstanding, stigma and severe isolation. Suicide risk is 6 times higher than average for people with ME. More research is desperately needed to develop treatments for this devastating disease.

We work to improve the lives of all people affected by ME. We provide critical support to adults, children and families affected by ME via our helpline, resources, peer support and holistic healthcare services. We campaign for change, educate medical professionals and invest in biomedical research - taking action to get people with ME the understanding, equity and care they deserve.
