Young people in prison are some of the most vulnerable in society, with many having suffered deprivation, abuse or neglect, and/or mental health issues. Approximately 60% of In2Out participants have been in local authority care. With chaotic lifestyles and fractured family structures, they lack positive life experiences, a support network and emotional maturity to navigate life 'on the out'. Nationally, on average, 60% of 15-18 year olds reoffend within 12 months of leaving custody.

In2Out mentors provide consistent, committed support, building relationships of trust and helping with * basic life skills *accessing care packages and statutory assistance * finding employment, education or training opportunities * developing social skills and engaging in new social opportunities * developing consequential thinking, managing triggers to offending and building resilience. We believe the future is one of hope rather than a lifestyle of crime and personal crisis.
