ENCORE 2024 brings our ‘remote’ and ‘in-person’ participants together for the VERY first time, through a weekend dance retreat, offering unique co-created and co-led dance activity and performance, creating new social connections, new experiences, and sharing the joy of dance.

People with learning disabilities face overwhelming barriers to living a full life; poor self-esteem, low confidence, ill health, significant isolation, and lack of opportunity to reach potential. Disabled people are almost twice as likely to be unemployed as non-disabled people, and three times as likely to be economically inactive (Labour Force Survey October to December 2021). Opportunities to access, engage with and progress within the performing arts are severely limited.

DanceSyndrome transforms lives and creates real change and opportunities for people with learning disabilities through dance in a unique, ground-breaking way. We empower people with learning disabilities through our unique co-designed and co-delivered dance model. We offer a broad programme of inclusive dance activity, inclusion workshops and training for people with learning disabilities, whilst addressing health inequalities, social inclusion, prevention, and transformation.
