Our planned work in the months ahead engages groups that are amongst those most marginalized and least represented in the arts – disabled people and people with dementia: -More than 850,000 people in the UK have dementia. Many are isolated physically and mentally. More than 2 million people have caring roles, many suffering resulting poor mental health. -Arts Council figures show that only 6% of people who work in the arts are disabled, compared with 21% of the wider population

Three participatory projects we are running in 2024 will specifically address these issues: -On The Beach – a sensory interactive show for people living with dementias and their carers, co-created with global majority-led elders groups -It All Makes Sensory – a programme of workshops and activities for people living with dementias, delivered in care homes -Tyre Change – a training programme to develop and train artists to work in sensory & participatory practice
