Girls in the slums of Kampala, Uganda are under attack. Violence against them is rising, robbing them of education & pushing them deeper into poverty. During the two-year Covid school closures, 60%+ experienced sexual violence, & child motherhood soared. Pregnant girls are shamed, unable to return to school or access healthcare. HIV rates are alarming, with 2/3rds of new infections in adolescent girls, yet less than 30% are tested/treated. High illiteracy makes them easy targets for exploitation

Designed in consultation with girls, we offer specialist solutions addressing their unique needs and perspectives. We support child mothers and survivors of violence in four key ways: 1. Providing a refuge for girls escaping violence 2. Ensuring access to 'girl-friendly' post-rape care, safe motherhood, and sexual health services 3. Fast-tracking out-of-school girls back into education 4. Offering literacy, vocational skills, and business training so they can earn an income.
