66% of victims of domestic abuse will delay leaving, stay or return if they cannot take their pets with them. Escaping to a refuge with a pet is not an option as they cannot be housed. We are raising funds for our service which enables victims of domestic abuse to flee & take their pets with them.

Leaving an abusive relationship is incredibly challenging. By understanding the many barriers that stand in the way of a woman leaving, we believe we can better support & empower women to make this decision. During the abuse, many women find comfort in their pets. They are often their only friend. The emotional bond they share with their animals makes it unthinkable to leave them behind when they flee but taking them can often be impossible as refuges or emergency housing do not allow pets.

We provide a confidential pet fostering service enabling women to flee domestic abuse & take their pets with them knowing they will be cared for until they are in a more secure position to be reunited with them. We are raising funds to continue providing this service to victims of domestic abuse, empowering them to flee with their much-loved pets. We cover all costs while their pets are being cared for by a foster family as we know often those fleeing domestic abuse leave with nothing.
