At CRIBS we house and support women who are heavily pregnant or have a new-born baby and have arrived in Europe, having fled conflict and exploitation. We strive to empower the women we work with, supporting them to navigate the healthcare system, claim asylum and rebuild their lives.

Beneficiaries
Many refugees fleeing conflict and exploitation from countries such as DRC, Cameroon and Afghanistan arrive in Athens, the first European capital city after having crossed from Turkey. Women who are heavily pregnant or have new-born babies are extremely vulnerable, yet receive no support from the Greek authorities. Having endured so much trauma, mothers (often alone) with babies and small children are left to live on the streets with no financial support.
We provide a home, safety and support to refugee women and their families. We help them access healthcare, navigate the asylum system, attend classes and find work, empowering them to go on to live independently. We provide a small monthly stipend, enabling them to buy food, access public transport, and so on. Our income is not keeping pace with the increase in our costs and we must change the way we work, while continuing to provide this high level support for up to 9 families.
