Situation
There is currently an epidemic of stress. In particular, refugee and asylum-seeking populations are 5 times more likely to have mental health needs than the general UK population, with 61% of asylum seekers experiencing serious mental illness (Refugee Council in England, 2022). They are also more likely to suffer from depression, PTSD and other anxiety disorders, linked to pre-migration experiences and post-migration conditions (Mental Health Foundation, 2022).
Solution
We offer free courses in Transcendental Meditation, proven to reduce symptoms of PTSD, stress, anxiety, burnout and fatigue, and increase energy levels, happiness, mental clarity and self-confidence. The technique provides the mind and body with a unique deep state of rest, allowing the nervous system to repair and restore itself, while also increasing its resilience to further stress. Through this technique, refugee and asylum seeking populations are able to reclaim their lives.
