Many young people in Camden live in areas of high deprivation, often in overcrowded housing, with poor access to safe, open or green spaces. Young people are so often portrayed negatively in the media yet they share the same concerns as adults about community safety and are affected disproportionally by violence and crime. Young people have the passions, talents and skills to contribute towards making our communities safer places but they are rarely given the opportunity to do so.

Through organising a series of community events, young people will foster better community relationships and demonstrate the positive contribution they can make to the community. Young people will be at the forefront of organising these events and will be responsible for all stewarding - from setting up & cleaning, to serving food and hosting on stage. Over 100 young people will volunteer at the events which will bring together over 500 residents and increase their sense of community belonging.
