At Power2, we unleash the power of children and young people and support them to identify their strengths. We help children and young people facing multiple challenges, to develop their emotional, social and mental wellbeing so they can re-engage with school and go out into the world to thrive.

    Situation

Poverty means increased likelihood of poor welllbeing, school exclusion and becoming NEET. 1 in 6 children has a mental wellbeing disorder – that’s 5 in every classroom. Those living in poverty are 4 times more likely to have serious mental health difficulties than others. The situation is worsening. 25% of parents receiving Universal Credit said their children are more stressed because of the cost-of-living crisis and a fifth that they’re struggling to learn as a result (Save the Children).

    Solution

We deliver early-intervention programmes that support children and young people to identify their strengths and re-engage at school. We prevent serious mental illness from developing, improve participants’ relationships with themselves and others and help them manage their emotions. Our experienced and highly trained facilitators are on the frontline every day, supporting young people referred by schools and local authorities. They are so often the young person’s only ‘someone out there’.
