We are facing an unprecedented demand for our adult and young people’s mental health services. In Stockport serious mental illness has risen by 41% since 2004/5, with a rise between 2016 and 2020 in the number of people diagnosed with anxiety of 30%, and with depression of 63%. The individuals who participate in our creative programmes have complex mental health issues: 38% of our adults had two & 10% had four or more conditions. 58% of our young people had multiple mental health conditions.

We are working with acutely vulnerable adults and young people with complex needs, enabling them to recover from a critical period of poor mental health, achieve independence and lead a better quality of life. Listening to their needs, we offer creative programmes which help them to connect with each other, build skills and confidence, and restore them to good mental health. “Your programmes have had such a huge impact on those we refer. Your whole approach is just what people need."
