From the act of the abuse, many times in childhood, trust has been broken and so there are social and relational barriers to overcome. Sexual violence survivors can come with many ‘symptoms’ after the abuse – like self-harm, suicidal ideation, risk-taking, alcohol and substance misuse as well as mental health diagnosis, that can range from anxiety, depression, PTSD to personality disorders like bipolar, BPD, etc.

To create a safe space to combat the isolation, shame and fear endemic in surviving sexual and relational offences. Support is tailored to individual need as victim survivors move through their recovery journey - they can also choose group work, peer support and art or Drama therapy. On ending Therapy clients report an increased ability to manage mental health symptoms such as self-harm and/or a decrease in experienced mental health symptoms.
