    Situation

Children in London are increasingly suffering in ‘The Cost of Children Crisis’. Families are struggling to afford rent and bills, depending on foodbanks, and cutting social spending, while the NHS and schools are unable to give children the support they need. More and more children are facing Adverse Childhood Experiences, such as poverty, domestic violence and bereavement, and without support these issues can threaten their health, wellbeing, school attainment and long-term life chances.

    Solution

We support children aged 8-11 facing challenges at home and school, to help improve their wellbeing, resilience and confidence to live happy and fulfilling lives. We inspire change-makers to volunteer as mentors, providing award-winning training and support so they can deliver child-led, trauma-informed mentoring across nine London Boroughs. Mentors meet their mentee weekly for a year, explore new areas, share new experiences, enjoy regular social interaction, and build trusting relationships.
