This campaign focuses on the biggest killer of men in the UK: suicide. We want to raise awareness of this taboo subject in the local community, and support men struggling with poor mental health by offering counselling sessions at our well-established, professional counselling service.

    Situation

Did you know that in the UK, 115 people die by suicide each week and 75% of these are men? It’s the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45. Although male mental health is talked about much more openly now, there are still societal expectations for men to be ‘strong’, and as a result, many find it too hard to admit when they’re struggling and too exposing to seek help.

    Solution

We want to bring the conversation about male suicide to a local level and offer tangible help. We plan to do this by: • raising awareness of our service within the local community, and its confidential nature, • offering an initial consultation for free with a skilled counsellor to break down that initial barrier and open the doors to the benefits that counselling can have.
