This campaign has now closed

We are seeing a significant rise in the number of young people seeking advice and support for their mental health and well-being. We will train our Youth Support Workers in Youth Mental Health First Aid so they can identify need, listen and provide the support that is needed.

    Situation

Young people seeking advice and support for their mental health and well-being is now the second highest issue that young people are raising with our youth support workers. Since the pandemic, this has increased significantly and we want to ensure our staff are properly trained to provide appropriate support, advice and guidance.

    Solution

We will train our youth support workers to become Mental Health First Aiders and Trauma Informed Practice. By doing this we will ensure our youth workers * have an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that affect wellbeing for young people * learn practical skills to spot the trigters and signs of mental health issues * have the confidence to step in, reassure and support a young person in distress * have enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
