The school holidays can be a time of increased social isolation and risk for young people, when a lack of structured activities can increase their risk of exploitation and harm. It can also be harder for families to feed their children nutritious meals, particularly for those who usually receive free lunches at school.

Reaching Higher will run a 4-week programme, 4 days per week during July and August 2024, providing hot lunches and a range of fun activities for over 200 young people aged 10-18 in Croydon. Each day will have a range of activities including sports, creative arts and opportunities for personal development – learning employability and communication skills and building healthy relationships.
