A recent Institute of Health Visitors report found that 78% of HVs reported an increase in perinatal mental illness in 2023. On top of this, our support services have seen a 15% increase in service users since 2021. Perinatal mental health is at a crisis point and NHS waiting times for treatment can be long. But we know recovery is possible, that talking therapy can help - and that cost shouldn't be a barrier.

Talking therapy is a known treatment for mental illnesses and can have good results, however the cost of private therapy can be hard for parents to meet - especially during the cost of living crisis - and waiting times are at their highest for NHS funded therapies. But through the money raised in our Big Give campaign, we will fund group therapy sessions for 150 parents with our in-house therapist.
