Children who have experienced the death of a parent are more likely to develop serious mental health problems including depression, addiction, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. They are more likely to be excluded from school, to become involved in criminal activity and to experience financial difficulties (Kissil & Lynch 2016). As a result of the cost-of-living crisis, more and more families cannot afford to seek therapeutic support privately, so our free services are more important than ever.

Our free, specialist one-to-one counselling service for bereaved children to talk about their grief and express their feelings in a safe and confidential space. Our face-to-face and online therapy by specialist bereavement therapists helps these children to work through negative feelings/mitigate negative outcomes of unsupported bereavement. Research tells us that those who can be most impacted by loss/bereavement are people from low-income families so supporting these children is a key focus.
