The Cardinal Hume Centre believes each person matters. We want to tackle homelessness, poor housing and child poverty now, and break their cycle into later life. We see the value in each individual, and nurture potential, helping young people, children and families to thrive.

More than 3,600 children in Westminster live in overcrowded, substandard temporary accommodation, a >25% rise in two years. We know that this has greatly harmful effects on a range of outcomes proven to cause future homelessness in children, including educational outcomes, social support networks, physical and mental health, and eventual employment opportunities. Without intervention, this will further increase homelessness in Westminster, and pass on these same challenges to future generations.

The Cardinal Hume Centre supports children and families facing poverty and homelessness, providing a place of sanctuary and support. We help them achieve security, prosperity and safety via a range of services, such as: immigration, benefits and housing advice and representation; employment and learning services, including careers guidance, digital skills training, and English teaching; and Family Services, giving children a safe, welcoming place to learn, play and socialise.
