Honeypot supports young carers aged 5-12 who care for a loved one and perform a surrogate adult role, often single-handedly. Our programme of residential respite breaks, memory making days, pastoral support, and digital engagement provides relief from taxing daily responsibilities, reducing stress, anxiety and loneliness.

Young carers are children who perform a role far beyond their years, providing care for an often chronically or terminally-ill family member. Primarily they give emotional support in the home, but also take on practical tasks like cooking, cleaning and laundry. These responsibilities affect all areas of their life and over a third of our children struggle to concentrate at school, more than half suffer with loneliness, and nearly all say they lack confidence and self-esteem.

Honeypot offers a Wrap-Round support model, consisting of services that address the unique needs of young carers. At the heart of our offer is residential respite breaks where children can make happy childhood memories that they deserve. The breaks are delivered across three beautiful countryside houses. These breaks are complimented by memory making days, outreach services which ensure young carers can stay connected and a pastoral service to support the whole family.
