    Situation

    Rates of a probable mental disorder in children are at an all-time high (NHS 2022) and 1 in 5 are now regularly absent from school (DfE 2023), with only 43% of disadvantaged pupils reaching the ‘expected standard’ in key subjects (Gov 2022). For children facing disadvantages such as living in poverty, experiencing challenging home environments, those with SEND, or who are Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker Children - their chances to thrive academically, socially and emotionally are threatened.

    Solution

    (1) Through our proven intervention and follow-up programme: Children are involved in running one of our six farms, normally for a week, alongside a therapeutic, family approach, with healthy food and limited technology, breaking the cycle of academic & social exclusion. (2) Partnering with education professionals: Supporting adults to renew their motivation and enrich their practice, influencing the education system as a whole to better support disadvantaged children nationwide.
