LYC is a place where you can learn, thrive and excel; a place of acceptance and encouragement where your voice means everything. We work with 2000 young people each year, creating community through choir. Funds raised will support the expansion of our work, making sure singing is accessible for all.

Situation
Music teaching is consistently being sidelined in education and the cost of living crisis further impacts this. All young people deserve to experience the joy and benefits of singing in a choir, but for many these opportunities are not accessible due to cost or lack of local provision. This means they miss out on opportunities to develop not only musical skills, but teamwork, confidence & concentration, which are instrumental in allowing young people to reach their potential.
Solution
LYC’s team of choral specialists make a real substantial difference to the lives & ambitions of young Londoners. We run 10 weekly choirs, working with nearly 500 young people from all over the capital each week. LYC Experience, our programme of outreach in schools and communities, delivers inspiring singing sessions in 16 state schools around the capital. Donations will help us expand this, removing barriers and increasing access for those excluded from musical opportunities.
