Teenagers from the most disadvantaged communities in London feel huge pressure transitioning into adulthood. Many encounter extreme hardship, combined with challenges such as poverty, racism, youth violence and negative peer pressure. These factors lead to poor mental health, a lack of safety, violence and poor school engagement. Young people feel anxious, depressed and lack a sense of belonging.
LIFEbeat has a 15-year track record delivering creative, transformational programmes that give vulnerable young people hope and opportunities, and alleviate isolation, anxiety and depression, whilst building self-esteem and resilience. Our 2024 Summer Camp programme will offer young people safe processes to tell their stories, access to creative, personal development workshops and opportunities to make new friends and become part of the LIFEbeat community to support their ongoing journey.
