The world is facing a biodiversity crisis and a loss of habitats and wildlife species is clear to see in Herefordshire. Two of the key drivers of wildlife population declines, are loss of habitats, and a lack of connection between habitats. Two of the main causes of these, in Herefordshire, are the intensification of farming which leaves little room for nature and is damaging our waterways and developments that damages habitats and creates barriers in the landscape.

We will create connected areas of habitat by: providing guidance and support to landowners on practical land management; working with communities and businesses through our Nature Action Network, providing guidance and training; providing more volunteering opportunities, support and training to upskill and empower people to take action for nature and promoting our wildlife recording website and providing training for the public to use it.
