We are in a state of EMERGENCY - Climate change, declining species, food security, & mental health issues need action NOW. It is key that children have a greater understanding & passion to find the solutions for today & for the future. However, there is a disconnect between children & the natural world due to: higher % of people living in urban areas less time spent outdoors, due to reduced freedom to explore & more time spent on screens pressure on schools for high attainment within curriculum
We have a farm – Bore Place farm, 500 acres of woods, streams, fields, diverse habitats & species, 350 dairy cows, market garden, an education kitchen & staff that can share hands on experiential learning. Bore Place is a natural playground & rich learning environment for our local children to connect with nature, food & gain the benefits of being outdoors. Our solution is to offer 6 local schools the opportunity to use our farm as part of their school setting to raise environmental awareness.
