Young people often have some awareness of environmental issues, but don't necessarily know how they can take action to help. In a crowded Curriculum, it's often difficult for schools to give the environment sufficient emphasis. Primary schools have a considerable environmental impact, through their energy use, their food provision, the amount of biodiversity in their grounds and the way they use and dispose of materials like paper and plastic.

Better Planet Schools enables young people to not only learn about environmental issues in greater detail, but also become the agents for change in their schools. By using a school's eco club as the drivers for change, the children can involve the whole school community in initiatives to save energy, increase recycling, reduce use of plastics, increase biodiversity in the school grounds, address fast fashion and many other issues too.
