Do you want to see more trees in our towns & cities? Your support will empower thousands of volunteers across the UK to take climate action in their local communities by planting trees in urban parks, schools, and city streets - breaking down barriers to nature and fighting for tree equity for all. We’ve hit our match funding target but you can still donate! Any gift you make will help bring the benefits of trees to where they’re needed most.

    Situation

With over 80% of the UK’s population now living in towns and cities, the most deprived communities are always hit the hardest by the lack of accessible green space, disproportionately affecting inner-city communities. The health of young people is also suffering, with only 8% of schoolchildren in urban communities having access to green space, leading to a range of physical and mental health issues such as obesity, anxiety and depression. Trees for Cities is taking urgent action to change this.

    Solution

Trees benefit everyone, cleaning our air, improving mental health and wellbeing, masking noise, absorbing carbon, protecting against the ‘urban heat island effect’, mitigating flood risk and more. By working directly with local communities, we support people to plant, protect, and promote the multiple benefits of urban trees, empowering people to learn new knowledge and skills and helping restore the UK’s canopy cover. Join our movement to create greener, healthier and happier places to live.
