From our work with Public Health England, we identified that domestic abuse is a high risk suicide trigger for men under the age of 55. Over 53.7% of our clients supported in the Save DAVE Service have suicidal ideation. As of March 2023, this service has expanded nationally, and there has been a significant surge in demand for male victims needing our support. By raising funds, we will be able to enhance capacity and ensure male victims receive specialised support.

Our service identifies domestic abuse as an issue for men, but it is also meets an unmet need of the number of male victims who are not getting any support, and hence are an invisible/unidentified section of our society. The IDVA service provides a high-quality intense front line service to ascertain the victims risk of harm and suicidal thoughts. The IDVA will help the client to feel more empowered and move forward with their life. The IDVA will act as the clients professional friend.
