We want to offer 50 free day visits to schools who are disadvantaged in some way. Through spending a day at our inspirational nature reserve, we want the children to connect with the natural world and learn to live more sustainably, enjoying hands-on sessions with our talented education team.

Many children have limited access to nature, even in a rural county like Somerset, and particularly access to high quality habitats like Carymoor. The cost of living crisis has made it more challenging for schools to fund school trips and to give children the opportunities they might once have enjoyed. Spending time in nature provides a wealth of benefits to young people, including increased attainment, improvements to health and wellbeing, and a chance to play and explore.

We will provide a choice of active learning days that help to explain environmental issues and encourage sustainable behaviour. Through games, trails, craft activities and an opportunity to explore our incredible site, we will provide children with an exciting day which will promote environmental action and help to boost wellbeing. The children will learn to tackle climate change by reducing consumption and reducing waste. We will help the children to connect with the natural world.
