Join us in growing 7,000 native trees, boosting our nurseries from 63,000 to a mighty 70,000. These trees will be planted on Dartmoor to regenerate woodland and restore habitats. Donations nurture seeds to saplings, shaping a greener Dartmoor. Plant today, restore a safer climate for the future.

Moor Trees exists to grow and plant native broadleaved woodlands and trees on Dartmoor to respond to the climate and nature crises. Trees have a valuable role to play both in terms of carbon sequestration, creating habitats for wildlife and reducing flood risk and soil erosion. Dartmoor has areas of unique habitat and some of the few remaining fragments of temperate rainforest in the UK. These woods are teaming with wildlife and nature and need support to be restored, enhanced and expanded.

We aspire to significantly expand Dartmoor's woodland cover by 2050, tackling both climate and nature crises. Funding is crucial to implement our strategy, raise awareness and increase community engagement. Expanding our volunteer base allows us to grow and plant more trees and empowers individuals to learn new skills, increase knowledge and be on the frontline of habitat restoration. Local provenance trees ensures genetic preservation and minimises disease risk within these unique habitats.
