There is a lack of awareness of the importance of local food, but also where and how to access healthy, locally grown, quality food, both from consumers and food and drinks businesses. Many of our eating habits have a huge environmental impact though unsustainable farming practices, using food out-of-season, the carbon footprint associated with transporting food businesses etc. So these markets would help provide a platform for local food businesses to showcase more sustainable options.

We will be running a series Gower Good Food Festivals to promote local food producers to visitors, people of the local area and food and drinks businesses in our area. We will use these events to promote healthy eating, environmentally conscious food choices, local food and sustainable living. These markets would help provide a platform for local food businesses to showcase more sustainable and healthy options to people within our local community, more importantly to the young people in our area
