CCF’s vision is to realise a world in which people can live & flourish in co-existence with cheetahs and the environment. We will develop community livestock projects, train farmers and educate local communities, building sustainable & alternative livelihoods in Northern Namibia.

64% of Namibians live in poverty and 60% rely on subsistence or livestock farming, the largest source of employment and food for most Namibians. Practiced unsustainably, it results in habitat and prey reduction. About 90% of cheetahs in Namibia live on these unprotected communal and resettled farmlands where the loss of one animal can be devastating so the risk of human wildlife conflict (HWC) is high. Cheetahs are the most endangered big cat in Africa with >7,100 remaining.

    1) Train farmers in the field and at CCF HQs via Future Farmers of Africa (FFA) programme about predator-friendly livestock management techniques and embed livestock guarding dogs to reduce livestock losses and HWC. 2) Pilot the introduction of dairy goat farming on communal lands, replicating CCF’s Model Farm and the Dancing Goat Creamery. This will illustrate a sustainable, transformative and economically viable agricultural model, reducing the need to kill cheetahs.
