At the South London Gallery we have been facilitating inspiring encounters with art for decades. Our extensive community programme reaches thousands of children, young people and adults in south London each year. Help us to continue our vital work in our communities.

Our local area in Peckham and Camberwell is one of the most deprived in the country, nearly half of children are living in poverty, and young people have a high prevalence of poor mental health. The area is proudly diverse, with a large population of Black, African, Caribbean and Black British people. Our work aims to create a fairer landscape for local people, in an area where race and inequality is so deeply intertwined.

Each year we improve the lives of local children, young people and adults through award-winning projects that are free and open to all. The programme includes a peer-led young people’s forum; family workshops; Art Block, a dedicated creative space for children on Sceaux Gardens housing estate; artist-led schools workshops; and sessions for looked-after children. We need your support to keep delivering these impactful programmes to our communities.
