Lake Windermere is under extreme environmental & climate pressure. The species decline in our largest, most visited lake is a clear call to action. Can you give to plant reedbeds that boost biodiversity, support water quality, encourage learning & sustain ecosystems for plants, wildlife & people?

    Situation

We are witnesses to the dramatic loss of lake biodiversity where we live, work & play. Windermere is under extreme environment & climate pressure. Reedbed loss has a brutal impact on wildlife habitat with a tragic loss of biodiversity, water quality & the unwelcome domination by invasive species. The loss of reedbeds damages the water, abundance & heritage of our unique landscape for future generations. 90% reedbed decline in the largest & most visited lake in England is a clear call to action.

    Solution

By reviving & planting 1400sq metres of reedbeds we can give shelter for otters, harriers, minnows, moths & dragonflies to name a few! We will harness 'reed-power' to support water quality, boost biodiversity, reduce erosion & create sustainable ecosystems. Working with our skilled local & national partners we bring project management, creative community education, sustainable finance, wider nature based solutions & share clear impact & best practice across our connected, respected networks.
