Music can be transformative for young people’s education, development & wellbeing. But not everyone feels included in or able to access existing opportunities. Our mission is to make group music-making more inclusive, creating safe spaces for young people to reach their creative & social potential.

Not all young people have equal access to group music-making. Education cuts have reduced curriculum time for music & school teacher numbers have fallen. Fewer young people can pursue music to GCSE/A Level & the cost of living is reducing family funds for music education. Meanwhile, the benefits of group-music making are more important than ever. The pandemic has disproportionately impacted disadvantaged young people, disrupting education, increasing social isolation & mental health challenges.

Our programmes make orchestral music more inclusive, supporting young people from deprived communities, who experience health or social barriers. National Orchestra for All: the most accessible & inclusive youth orchestra in the UK, free & non-auditioned with 100 young people of all skill levels, instruments & access needs Modulo: giving school teachers the skills & resources to run inclusive ensembles Music Leadership Training: online learning materials that share our inclusive practices
