    Situation

Indigenous communities in Peru have been historically marginalized, facing challenges like weak land tenure security; lack of political representation/access to state services, human rights abuses & other impacts resulting from illegal deforestation & land encroachments, to name a few. Also, whilst there is immense potential of social enterprises to improve livelihoods & lift them out of poverty, there are significant barriers; lack of market access & the evident neglect by their government.

    Solution

We work with the award-winning and inspirational Indigenous cooperative Kemito Ene to enhance cocoa production among Asháninka families through agroforestry, fostering sustainability & to access fair markets. Our ForestLink technology empowers Indigenous communities to safeguard their lands, expose illegal activities, combat environmental degradation & abuses, & engage with civil society organisations to assert their rights.
