We want to offer free cinema tickets and continue working with local primary schools to deliver our film education programme, helping children to create their own films whilst supporting learning. And for this we need your help!

    Situation

Our local community – Tower Hamlets and on the border of Hackney – is home to a diverse population of children who live in boroughs with enormous inequalities, with some of the highest rates of child poverty in the country. We know these inequalities have been made worse since the pandemic and the ongoing cost of living crisis, and that these children have reduced access to arts and cultural activities.

    Solution

We are passionate about film, and we believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience and appreciate film as an art form. Our programme provides free cinema tickets to children, and works with local primary schools to deliver our film education programme, helping children to create their own films, which they can then watch at a screening at Rich Mix, whilst supporting learning. We will also run an After School Film Club, and offer resources and support to teachers.
