The ongoing cost of living crisis continues to put pressure on organisations & individuals. Many of our most vulnerable are already struggling & having to miss out on enriching arts engagement activities. We want to do everything we can to ensure that these families can still access arts & culture.

    Situation

With ongoing rising costs of living, everyone is feeling the strain. People are missing out on arts engagement activities that help to create community cohesion, reduce isolation and benefit physical and mental health. Those most affected will be vulnerable members of our community including low socio-economic individuals and families, the young, the elderly, refugees and those with physical or mental illness or disabilities.

    Solution

We want to be able to offer a suite of activities - free or subsidised - to those who need it the most. This offer will include: - Bursary places for all of our Mercury Young Company groups - Subsidised and funded activity for SEND young people - Partnership working with local community groups including those working with refugees, LGBTQIA+ community, young carers - Activities in care homes and residential units - Support for young and/or emerging artists starting their careers - Work in schools
