    Situation

The aftermath of the pandemic caused a notable increase in demand for our services due to the intense isolation older people have experienced. Many cannot leave their homes, desperately long for human interaction, suffer from chronic loneliness and depression, which is the most common mental health problem among older adults. 3 years on, many are still reluctant to engage with others. Feedback tells us that 95.5% of our participants feel more confident, happier and less lonely through singing.

    Solution

Our world-class artists will deliver directly into communal living rooms in care/social housing to isolated & vulnerable senior adults, who may otherwise have no access to group activities. The Smiling Sessions connects beneficiaries with each other, staff, carers, families, creating a sense of occasion and routine, helping them feel needed, cared about as significant human beings..Group singing is an antidote for combatting loneliness, improving health & well-being, self esteem and happiness.
