We work with major arts organisations to deliver inspirational seed workshop programmes for people with early-stage dementia and their carers. We train our partners and other artists in early-stage dementia awareness, we signpost arts events UK-wide and support social prescribing for brain health.

Beneficiaries
Situation
1. Lack of confidence and sense of self-worth following the shock of a diagnosis of dementia. 2. Particular distress for care givers as they see their loved one losing their abilities while they themselves face increasing and often debilitating physical and emotional demands. 3. Lack of suitable high-quality arts provision for people living with early-stage dementia in the community (as opposed to in residential care). 4. Difficulty finding such provision as exists.
Solution
We will be working with major arts organisations, including Central Saint Martins college of art, training their teams and partnering with them to deliver inspirational workshop programmes for people with early-stage dementia and their carers. The 1,100+ trained to date, including independent artists, will reach over 18,000 people with dementia and carers in 2024. Our signposting and advocacy work promotes access to local arts engagement for families affected by dementia across the UK.
