The Clay Foundation trades as the British Ceramics Biennial (BCB). We develop, sustain & expand innovative ceramics practice & improve lives together with artists & creative communities. We deliver an engaging year-round programme, which feeds into a festival of contemporary ceramics.

BCB creates career-enhancing opportunities for artists from the UK & internationally. We also work with community groups & individuals responding to urgent local needs linked to health, community cohesion, skills & learning. Our year-round programme covers topics including improving educational attainment, addiction recovery & living well with dementia, whilst the British Ceramics Biennial is the single largest contemporary ceramics event in the UK, taking place in Stoke-on-Trent every 2 years.

BCB's focus on supporting artists and responding to local needs means our work will always continue. There are always new artists who can benefit from the profile, expertise and support that BCB provides and there are constant & evolving needs within communities that can be positively benefited through thoughtful, targeted and expertly-delivered engagement with clay and contemporary art practice. We are an ambitious & optimistic organisation that takes great pride in our work.
