As part of our core Arts based curriculum, Orpheus use PBL to emphasise learning activities that are long-term, interdisciplinary, and student led, giving the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills through engaging projects set around challenges and problems they may face in the real world.

Orpheus focuses on developing independence skills through the arts and many of our students, young disabled adults aged 18 -25, have ambitions for a future as performers. We know how difficult this industry can be, but disabled people also lack the same opportunities as their non disabled peers in terms of employment and social interaction and they often face discrimination and stigma as a result of their condition,

Using a PBL approach, students will use their own knowledge and choices to focus on a big open-ended question to research and respond to, ie 'where's our jobs?' The students can then present their findings as a self curated performance or by creating a a short feature film which can be presented to an audience.
