To be a truly great town for all who live and work here, we need to harness the huge potential of creativity to open up imaginations, promote pride in place, create jobs and opportunities for learning, support people's wellbeing and bring communities together. Our cultural organisations are well-placed to deliver these outcomes for people through a diverse programme of events, festivals, public art and engagement.
Solution
By supporting a consortium of Middlesbrough's cultural organisations, we can grow our programme of events, festivals and public art to bring colour and vibrancy, encouraging people to visit and reimagine the town. We can develop our arts/cultural spaces to make it easier for artists, participants and audiences to be creative by providing a variety of spaces which are welcoming, accessible and better serve our communities. These spaces will form an integral and central part of the townscape.
