UK populations face a range of health challenges, including obesity and long-term conditions, with inactivity having serious implications. Many people also feel isolated and alone, particularly post-pandemic, with many still working from home, and those that are older, or who have caring responsibilities, at the fore of those still reporting high levels of loneliness. Getting active and singing as a group can foster friendships, reduce social isolation and promote community spirit and fitness.

The People’s Walking Choir will bring people together to move, sing and bring joy to local places and spaces. The choir will be free to participate in, operating across the West Midlands during this first year, with plans to reach wider areas in future. We will welcome all ages and abilities, with support provided for those who need it. Help us to spread joy, build friendships and shift a few unwanted pounds from our waistlines by supporting The People’s Walking Choir.
